About the Website

Information on this page clarifies some basic points if you're unfamiliar with artist websites.  The page is lengthy and detailed, so you may want to skim through it and refer back later for specific information.

Please sign up under What's New for occasional email newsletters and if you're interested in being among the first to see recently completed paintings and learn about new art-related activities.

Paintings

All oil paintings are on linen and are my original artworks done on site and/or in studio using reference photographs, all taken by me.  Either varnish or medium was used to protect the paint surface and enhance appearance of each painting. Watercolors are done on 140 or 300 lb. Arches paper, and pastels are on UArt 400 grade sanded pastel paper.  Most paintings are available for purchase either through galleries that represent me, online through this website, or by contacting me directly by email.

Opportunities for purchase are given in the descriptive information for each painting.  Paintings you select are placed in a virtual shopping cart, and payment is then made by credit card through Stripe.  Purchased paintings can be picked up from my studio (please contact me in advance), or you can make arrangements to have packing and shipping done professionally by contacting Pak Mail Ridgeland.  Once those arrangements are completed, I'll deliver the painting to Pak Mail.  Pak Mail provides fair pricing to account for the variables of size, weight, value, destination, and framing.  Their service has proven to be reliable over many years of their being in business.

 - Framing:  Most paintings have already been placed with care and attention to detail into a museum-quality frame.  The listed price  includes the frame.  Images in the collections typically show only the painting.  However, you can access the virtual image feature (by using the "Room" button) to see the painting in various settings and (by using the "View" feature) to see the painting within its frame.

 - Note:  I believe that original artwork should be purchased without concern about replica images being "out there."  Thus, photographic reproduction of original oil paintings is not offered, except for paintings being retained and owned by the artist or when written permission is given by the painting's current owner.  Given these exceptions, you will find a “View Available Prints” button associated with several of my paintings.  See below for additional explanation of how to proceed if you are interested in a photographic reproduction of one of these paintings designated as an exception.

Photographs

Please note: As of June 1, 2025 and until this notice is removed, printing of artwork on the website is temporarily on hold while FASO transitions to another vendor for photographic services.

Photographs I've taken during many years of interest in nature photography are in their own collections located separately from the paintings.  Professionally prepared, high-quality prints of these photographs are available for purchase.  The process of ordering prints can be started by accessing a photograph's “View Available Prints” button,* which opens the "Print and Frame Shop" window.  Selections can be made among various options for print size, border size, surface material (substrate), and framing (if desired).  Detailed information about substrates for photographic prints is available here.  Real-time display of the end product of the combined variables, as well as the associated pricing, is provided as each selection is entered.  Items are placed in a virtual shopping cart, and payment is made by credit card through Stripe.

- Fulfillment:  The length of time from placing a print order until delivery is usually about 5 days for prints only and 10-14 business days for framed prints.

- Returns:  I'm confident you'll be pleased with these professionally printed photographs.  However, if the artwork you receive has a quality issue or is damaged, a no-charge replacement will be provided.  In the case of damage, the print supplier will need photographs of the damage to approve a no-charge replacement.  If you simply do not like the product, the supplier will not accept returns.  Yet, even though return for credit cannot be offered, if you simply don't like the product, be assured that every reasonable effort will be made to resolve the issue to your satisfaction.

- Cancellation:  Due to the expediency of the printing process, once the order has been submitted for production it cannot be cancelled. Please see exceptions mentioned under Returns (above).

* Absence of the “View Available Prints”  button indicates that prints for that photograph is not yet available.  Notify me by email if you are interested in a photograph not yet set up for sale of prints, and I will promptly make it possible for you.
